It’s time for our daily Jim Starlin Legacy Project reveal!  

Acclaimed artist Darryl Banks, co-creator of Green Lantern Kyle Rayner along with Ominous Press Editor-in-Chief and Lead Writer Ron Marz, tackles two vile villains created by Jim Starlin. The latest addition to the Jim Starlin Legacy Project is a stunning work of art featuring Starlin’s signature creations Thanos and Mongul in a titanic tussle. Darryl made his Mongul mark by including the villain in some of his first Green Lantern issues, and drew Thanos in the landmark Green Lantern-Silver Surfer crossover. This inked one-of-a-kind artwork measures a full 11 inches by 17 inches, and will go to the first person to pledge its $750 reward tier. Along with Darryl’s incredible artwork, your pledge will also include both digital and physical editions of Black Book: The Art of Jim Starlin and Mindgames: A Hardcore Station Story.

Thanks to your efforts, our $45K stretch goal is just around the corner! As a reminder, when we’ve reached the $45K threshold, everyone who has pledged for a physical reward will get the amazing Dreadstar art print by Bart Sears, featuring the beautiful color of Neeraj Menon.  

In the meantime, we’d like to reveal a bit more of our plan for the Jim Starlin Legacy Project. As of now, we’ve released four amazing and one-of-a-kind pieces from Bart Sears, Andy Smith, Phil Hester, and Graham Nolan. Bart’s and Andy’s have sold, but you still have a chance at beautiful originals by Phil and Graham! These four pieces of artwork are just the beginning of the Jim Starlin Legacy Project, and we’re excited to tease what's coming up! Be sure to check back every day for new announcements!

The Bane of the Jim Starlin Legacy Project

Yesterday, we announced an exciting new project with long-time Batman artist and co-creator of the villain Bane, Graham Nolan.

Today, we are elated to reveal that Graham is the next artist in the Jim Starlin Legacy Project! Graham has delivered a sublimely illustrated depiction of Jim Starlin’s creation Thanos in a battle for the ages with his longtime foe Captain Marvel. Graham’s inked art measures a full 11 inches by 17 inches. One lucky backer can pledge $750 to claim this fantastic artwork along with physical and digital copies of both Black Book: The Art of Jim Starlin and Mindgames: A Hardcore Station Story.  

Our next artist will be revealed tomorrow, but don’t forget, Phil Hester’s amazing original OMAC piece is still up for grabs as well!

Graham Nolan’s Monster Island Creator Edition and Black Book: The Art of Graham Nolan will be LIVE on Kickstarter Tuesday, June 26th.

The Creator Edition of MONSTER ISLAND celebrates the 20th Anniversary of the pulp-adventure classic, written and illustrated by Graham Nolan. Lovingly reproduced from the original art boards, this oversized edition includes the entire original story of stalwart heroes discovering an island overrun by monsters. There's also a wealth of extras, including new pin-ups by artists Lee Weeks, Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez, Butch Guice, Kelley Jones, Bart Sears, Pat Olliffe, and Mark A. Nelson, plus a brand-new short story paving the way for a full-color sequel!  

Also available: Artist Graham Nolan defined an entire era of Batman comics, including co-creating the villain Bane. Now Graham delves into his files to present a hardcover collection of classic images, private commissions, and personal work, much of it never published before. The fourth print included in the Jim Starlin Art Portfolio is a brilliant battle of the gods! Thor takes on Thanos in a fight that inspired some of the greatest action in Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War. For a pledge of $95, you get Black Book: The Art of Jim Starlin, the Mindgames illustrated novella, all four portfolio prints released thus far, plus one more epic print still to be announced!
